Tourist Family

The film follows a Sri Lankan Tamil family — father Dharmadas, his wife Vasanthi and their two sons Nithushan and Mulli — who flee their homeland amid economic and social turmoil and arrive in India seeking a fresh start. With Vasanthi’s brother Prakash’s help, they settle in a Chennai colony under the guise of being Malayalees, quietly forging a new life. Their kind, warm-hearted nature gradually wins the trust and hearts of their neighbours, but when a bombing in Rameswaram triggers a police investigation, the family’s past and new identity face scrutiny, testing their bonds, community ties and values in an emotionally uplifting, humorous and heart-warming story.
