A visually stunning, gothic‑fantasy adventure directed by Tim Burton, Alice in Wonderland (2010) re‑imagines Lewis Carroll’s classic through the lens of an adult Alice Kingsleigh (Mia Wasikowska). After ditching an unwanted marriage proposal, she falls down the rabbit hole and returns to the magical yet fractured realm of Wonderland (Underland). Guided by whimsical and eccentric allies—like the tormented Mad Hatter (Johnny Depp)—Alice embraces her destiny to vanquish the fearsome Jabberwocky, restore the benevolent White Queen (Anne Hathaway) to power, and liberate Wonderland from the tyrannical Red Queen (Helena Bonham Carter). The film blends live-action and CGI in a richly stylized world, underpinned by Danny Elfman’s sweeping score.
