Aligarh

Set in the conservative city of Aligarh, the biographical drama follows Dr. Shrinivas Ramchandra Siras, a quiet and respected professor of Marathi literature at Aligarh Muslim University who is abruptly suspended after being illegally filmed in an intimate, consensual moment in his private home. Ostracized by his peers and the university administration, Siras finds an unlikely ally in Deepu Sebastian, an empathetic young journalist determined to expose the grave injustice and personal violation of the sting operation. Together with a dedicated legal team, Siras fights a landmark constitutional battle in court to restore his dignity, right to privacy, and fundamental humanity against deep-rooted institutional prejudice.
