In 1942, during the height of World War II, Canadian intelligence officer Max Vatan and French Resistance fighter Marianne Beauséjour are paired for a high-stakes mission to assassinate a German ambassador in Casablanca. After successfully completing the assignment and posing as a married couple, the two fall in love and eventually marry in London, starting a quiet life during the Blitz. However, their domestic bliss is shattered when British intelligence informs Max that Marianne is suspected of being a German sleeper agent. Forced into a race against time, Max must navigate a web of secrets and conduct his own dangerous investigation to prove his wife's innocence before he is ordered to carry out the ultimate sacrifice.
