Set against the backdrop of the socio-political upheaval of 1960s America, the story follows Seymour "Swede" Levov, a legendary high school athlete and successful businessman whose idyllic suburban life begins to crumble. His world is shattered when his beloved daughter, Merry, becomes radicalized and is accused of committing a fatal act of political terrorism during the Vietnam War. As Swede embarks on a desperate, years-long quest to find her and reunite his family, he is forced to confront the harsh reality that the American Dream he built is dissolving into a chaotic new era of cultural transformation.
