A devoted father‑in‑law, Balraj Kapoor (Amitabh Bachchan), loses his only son Avinash (Salman Khan) in a tragic accident, leaving Avinash’s young widow Millie (Rani Mukerji) shattered with their son. Determined to restore her life and happiness, Balraj overcomes deep‑rooted familial resistance and societal taboo to encourage Millie to remarry her loyal childhood friend Rajat (John Abraham).
