In the majestic world of Emperor Penguins, where a "Heartsong" is the only way to attract a soulmate, young Mumble is born with a disastrous singing voice but a remarkable talent for tap-dancing. Ostracized by the colony's elders who blame his "un-penguin" behavior for a local fish shortage, Mumble embarks on an epic journey across the Antarctic wilderness. Alongside a boisterous group of Adélie penguins known as the Amigos and a mystical Rockhopper guru named Lovelace, Mumble eventually discovers the true cause of the environmental crisis—human overfishing—and uses his unique dancing skills to communicate with the "aliens" and save his people.
