Captive State

Set in a Chicago neighborhood nearly a decade after an occupation by an extraterrestrial force, Captive State explores the lives on both sides of the conflict—the collaborators and the dissidents. The story follows a young man, Gabriel, who is recruited by a resistance cell attempting to ignite a war against the "Legislators," the alien overlords who have imposed a deceptive peace while stripping Earth of its resources. As the underground movement prepares a daring strike, they must evade a high-ranking police officer tasked with maintaining order and rooting out the rebellion.
