Girl, Interrupted

Set in the late 1960s, the film follows 18-year-old Susanna Kaysen, who is institutionalized at Claymoore Psychiatric Hospital after a suicide attempt. Diagnosed with borderline personality disorder, Susanna navigates the complex social hierarchy of the ward, eventually falling under the magnetic but dangerous influence of Lisa Rowe, a charismatic sociopath. As Susanna witnesses the varying struggles of her fellow patients and the harsh realities of institutional life, she must ultimately choose between the seductive chaos of Lisa’s world and the difficult path toward reclaiming her own sanity and freedom.
