It's Kind of a Funny Story

Sixteen-year-old Craig Gilner, overwhelmed by the pressures of high school and adolescent life, checks himself into a psychiatric hospital after contemplating suicide. However, due to the youth ward being closed, he is placed in the adult ward where he must stay for a mandatory five-day observation period. During his time inside, Craig befriends Bobby, an older patient who becomes a mentor of sorts, and Noelle, a fellow teenager struggling with her own internal battles. Through these connections and creative therapy, Craig begins to confront the sources of his anxiety and discovers that his life is far more valuable than the stress that nearly ended it.
