Set in a dystopian near-future California in 2030, the state has established a "Grand Lottery" with a multi-billion dollar prize and a deadly twist: anyone holding a losing ticket can legally kill the winner before sundown to claim the jackpot, provided they don't use guns. Katie Kim (Awkwafina), a struggling actress newly arrived in Los Angeles, inadvertently wins the $3.6 billion prize and finds herself hunted by a bloodthirsty city.
