Holly Berenson, a meticulous caterer, and Eric Messer, a laid-back sports director, are polar opposites whose only common ground is a disastrous blind date and their mutual love for their goddaughter, Sophie. Their lives are upended when Sophie’s parents tragically die in a car accident, leaving the duo as her designated joint guardians. Forced to move into their late friends' home to provide stability for the toddler, Holly and Messer must navigate the chaotic challenges of instant parenthood while balancing their competing career ambitions.
