About Nil Battey Sannata
Chanda Sahay, a hardworking single mother employed as a domestic maid in Agra, dreams of giving her unmotivated teenage daughter, Apeksha (Apu), a better future through education. Disheartened by Apu’s apathy toward her studies and her surrender to a cycle of generational poverty, Chanda takes the unconventional step of enrolling as a student in Apu’s tenth-grade class to master mathematics and tutor her herself. The resulting embarrassment fuels an intense rivalry between mother and daughter, ultimately transforming their strained relationship into an inspiring journey of perseverance, self-worth, and the universal right to dream.
