Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief is a 2010 fantasy adventure film based on Rick Riordan’s bestselling novel The Lightning Thief. Directed by Chris Columbus, it follows teenager Percy Jackson, who discovers he is the demigod son of Poseidon. After being accused of stealing Zeus’s master lightning bolt, Percy embarks on a perilous cross‑country journey with his friend Grover and fellow demigod Annabeth Chase to recover the bolt, stop a catastrophic war among the gods, and rescue his mother from the Underworld, confronting mythological monsters and divine conspiracies along the way.
