Shutter Island

Shutter Island is a neo‑noir psychological thriller set in 1954, directed by Martin Scorsese. U.S. Marshal Teddy Daniels (Leonardo DiCaprio) and his partner Chuck Aule (Mark Ruffalo) are sent to Ashecliffe Hospital, a remote institution for the criminally insane on Shutter Island, to investigate the mysterious disappearance of a patient, Rachel Solando. As Teddy digs deeper, he encounters hostile staff, unsettling visions, and hints of government experiments; he’s also haunted by memories of his wife’s death and his wartime service.
