The Contract

Ray Keene (John Cusack), a grieving widower and high school gym teacher, takes his rebellious teenage son Chris on a wilderness hiking trip to mend their fractured relationship. Their excursion turns into a fight for survival when they stumble upon Frank Carden (Morgan Freeman), a professional assassin who has escaped federal custody following a violent ambush. After a dying U.S. Marshal entrusts Ray with the prisoner, the father and son must navigate treacherous terrain while being hunted by Carden’s elite team of mercenaries. As Ray relies on his former skills as a police officer to protect his son, he finds himself caught in a deadly web of political conspiracies and double-crosses where the line between criminal and lawman begins to blur.
