The Dog Stars

Set in the year 2035 years after a catastrophic flu pandemic wipes out most of human civilization, Hig, a former mechanic and pilot, leads an isolated life in an abandoned Colorado airstrip alongside his faithful dog Jasper and an abrasive, survivalist ex-Marine named Bangley. While conducting reconnaissance flights in his 1956 Cessna to forage for supplies and evade violent scavengers, Hig intercepts a mysterious radio signal that reignites his belief that civilization and hope still endure elsewhere. After losing Jasper to an ambush, Hig risks everything on a one-way journey into the unknown, navigating hostile territory and perilous encounters to locate the source of the transmission and forge an alliance with other survivors.
