About The Driftless Area
Based on the novel by Tom Drury, The Driftless Area is a neo-noir metaphysical romance that follows Pierre Hunter, a bartender who returns to his quiet hometown following the death of his parents. His aimless life takes a supernatural turn when he falls for the enigmatic Stella, a woman with a mysterious past who may be more than she appears. As their relationship deepens, Pierre finds himself unwittingly entangled in a dangerous game of cat-and-mouse with Shane, a volatile and incompetent criminal. Forced to navigate a web of fate and coincidence, Pierre must protect the woman he loves while dealing with a stolen bag of cash that threatens to determine all of their destinies in this atmospheric, small-town fable.
