The Tiger's Apprentice follows Tom Lee, a Chinese-American teenager living in San Francisco who discovers he comes from a long line of magical guardians. After the sudden death of his grandmother, Tom is taken under the wing of a cynical, wisecracking tiger named Hu. Together with a band of misfit mythological creatures representing the Chinese Zodiac, Tom must master ancient magic to protect a powerful phoenix egg from an evil sorceress named Loo, who intends to use its power to destroy humanity and the spirit world.
