Zora, a protective mother, and her terminally ill teenage daughter, Tuesday, find their lives upended when Death arrives at their doorstep in the form of a size-shifting, talking macaw. While Tuesday maintains a sense of humor and acceptance regarding her fate, Zora is consumed by denial and desperate resistance, even attempting to bargain with or defeat the cosmic entity to keep her daughter alive. As the surreal presence of Death guides them through their grief, the film unfolds as a poignant and visually inventive fairy tale that explores the difficult process of letting go and finding resilience in the face of inevitable loss.
