Rohan (Akshaye Khanna) is a jobless graduate in Delhi who, lured by the promise of the American Dream, migrates to New York City to seek his fortune. Abandoned by the friend who initially encouraged him, he finds support within a tight-knit group of fellow Indian immigrants and forms a deep bond with Pooja (Aishwarya Rai), a woman also struggling to find her footing in a foreign land. However, Rohan's ambition leads him to pursue Loveleen, a wealthy NRI girl, in hopes of securing a green card, causing him to alienate those who truly care for him. The narrative takes a poignant turn when Rohan discovers that his father, Balraj (Rajesh Khanna)—long believed to have died in an accident—is alive and living in America, leading to a journey of reconciliation, cultural identity, and the eventual realization that home and family are more valuable than materialistic success.
