The Silent Saviour is a historical political-economic drama inspired by real events surrounding India's severe economic crisis of the early 1990s. The story follows A. Ramanan, a newly appointed RBI Governor played by Manoj Bajpayee, who finds India dangerously close to bankruptcy, with inflation, fuel shortages, political pressure and public unrest threatening the country's stability. As the crisis deepens, Ramanan must make difficult financial decisions while battling resistance from within the political and administrative system. The film focuses on his attempt to prevent an economic catastrophe and portrays him as an unlikely, largely unsung figure whose decisions could determine whether India survives its darkest financial hour.
