Remarkably Bright Creatures

Set in a coastal Washington town, the story follows Tova Sullivan, a grieving elderly widow who works the night shift at the local Sowell Bay Aquarium to cope with the loss of her husband and the mysterious disappearance of her son decades earlier. While cleaning, she forms an unexpected and tender bond with Marcellus, a remarkably clever and curmudgeonly giant Pacific octopus living in captivity. When a wayward young man named Cameron arrives in town searching for his estranged father and begins working at the aquarium, Marcellus pieces together a long-buried truth linking Cameron to Tova's past, using his wits to help heal their unresolved grief and guide them toward a life-changing revelation.
