The Balkan Line

Set during the 1999 Kosovo War, The Balkan Line follows a small unit of Russian Special Forces task-hardened to execute a top-secret mission: seize the strategically vital Slatina Airport before NATO forces can occupy it. Led by Commander Andrey Shatalov and intelligence officer Aslan-Bek Evkhoev, the team must hold their ground against overwhelming numbers of Albanian terrorists who are terrorizing the local Serbian population. The stakes become deeply personal for Shatalov when he discovers his love interest, Jasna, is among the hostages held at the airfield. Combining intense tactical action with high-stakes political tension, the film depicts a fictionalized account of the real-life standoff that nearly sparked a global conflict.
