The Blackout

An unexplained phenomenon suddenly plunges the entire planet into darkness, severing all communications and causing the instantaneous death of billions. The only remaining pocket of life on Earth is a small "Circle of Life" in Eastern Europe, primarily centered around Moscow. As the Russian military establishes a defensive perimeter, they discover that the blackout was not a natural disaster but the first stage of an extraterrestrial invasion.
