About The Climbers
Based on the real‑life expeditions of Chinese mountaineers, The Climbers (2019) chronicles two generations of the China National Mountaineering Team as they confront the treacherous North Face of Mount Everest in 1960 and again in 1975. Determined to secure international recognition for their summit achievements, the teams battle brutal weather, physical exhaustion, and life‑and‑death decisions, as well as internal conflicts and sacrifice, in their quest to conquer Earth’s highest peak. Directed by Daniel Lee and starring Wu Jing, Zhang Ziyi, and Hu Ge, the film blends historical drama with high‑altitude adventure.
