The Lighthouse

Set in the late 19th century, two lighthouse keepers, the grizzled veteran Thomas Wake and the tight-lipped newcomer Ephraim Winslow, arrive at a remote and desolate New England outpost for a four-week stint. As a relentless storm strands them on the island, the isolation, grueling labor, and heavy drinking fuel a descent into madness. Plagued by eerie hallucinations, mutual suspicion, and seafaring myths, the two men engage in a psychological battle for dominance and the forbidden secrets of the lighthouse lantern, leading to a hallucinatory and violent climax.
