Dev Karan Singh, an ambitious painter and charismatic playboy engaged to a tycoon's daughter for financial security, crosses paths with Priya, a dedicated music teacher betrothed out of gratitude to her benefactor, aboard a cruise ship from Singapore to Mumbai. Despite their pre-existing commitments, an undeniable mutual affection blossoms between them, prompting a pact to end their engagements, become financially independent, and reunite at the Gateway of India six months later.
